Every single moment the biochemistry within you is changing. The question is whether it is changing for better or for worse? Are you consciously participating in this change, or are you oblivious to its occurrence?
Research in neuroscience, epigenetic, and energy psychology has revealed that thoughts and emotions impact your body at the cellular level. The brain controls blood chemistry––it is linked to the perceptions in mind, and your emotions. In short, when you have the perception of love, the brain releases oxytocin––a hormone that regulates the body’s metabolism, supports growth and strengthens your immune system. But, when a person is in fear, the brain releases stress hormones such as cortisol that shuts down a cell’s growth process and damages the immune system. This reveals that the power to affect your own bio-chemistry lies with you.
So, here are 3R’s to help you re-invent yourself, and take charge of your well-being.
1. Revise your knowledge: Having information is not knowledge. Today tremendous information is available at your fingertips. Everything is out there on google. You ask a question, and in a fraction of seconds, the answer pops up. Sometimes, knowledge is lost in the web of beliefs. Knowledge is the cognitive ability to assimilate the information and use it wisely. It is imperative to get a detailed perspective on your belief system. It cannot be imperceptive to the present times. Right knowledge is contemporary. So, revise your knowledge and take a rain-check on it from time to time.
2. Resilient Mindset – Balance your Thinking: Such thinking is accepting of a multitude of perspectives. It does not promote a single ideology but is coherent across teachings and principles. It rests on the foundation that nothing is certain, everything changes and every action is consequential in the boundless web of consciousness. Resilient thinking embraces diversity and co-existence. It enhances your capacity to deal with changes and disturbances not as an individual but as a universal entity. So, imbibing the principles of resilient thinking will lead to a remarkable version of yourself.
3. Reinforce your virtues: Virtues such as compassion, patience, generosity, kindness are very essence of your existence. But these are entombed in layers of duality and lifetimes of conditioning. When you reinforce these virtues, you experience the magnificence of existence in you and around you. Your actions and intentions are then aligned to the universal intelligence beyond the duality of cravings and aversion. Daily spend some moments in reflection to see the choices you make and be aware of what you reinforce.
Every breath is an opportunity to re-invent yourself and lead you to your complete well-being. May your choices lead you to experience the splendour of your existence.
